Chiropractic Neurology
Chiropractic neurology is a sub-specialty in the field of chiropractic, the same way medical neurology is a subspecialty in medicine. Chiropractic neurologists are specially trained to use physical medicine to improve neurologic function, bringing greater health to people who may be experiencing a variety of chronic conditions or physical injuries.
Because our central nervous system, which includes our brain and spinal cord, is involved in regulating every critical function of the body, targeted efforts to improve one's neurological health can greatly improve many negative health conditions - both acute and chronic.
Improving the way the brain communicates to the rest of the body can provide long lasting, far reaching improvements in overall health and wellness.
This type of treatment is a bit different from the standard of care typically delivered in chiropractic offices, as it consists of a combination of targeted therapies, including: adjustments, sensory integration, visual therapies, nutrition and exercises.
In order to become board certified in neurology, a licensed chiropractor must complete 300 hours of post doctoral studies, and pass both a written and clinical examination delivered by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board.
