Introducing Sonora Chiropractor Dr. Dennis Smith

"I'd planned to become a medical doctor at first", admits Dr. Smith. "But then I suffered a series of sports injuries, and the medical docs couldn't help me. My whole life changed after those injuries - not for the good. They told me to live with it, but I didn't give up hope. Finally, a local chiropractor helped me to get well without drugs or surgery, and I got my life back. From that point on, I wanted to be a chiropractor."

Dr. Dennis Smith, Sonora ChiropractorFollowing the completion of his doctorate degree at Life West Chiropractic College in 2001, Dr. Smith continued his advanced studies in neurology at the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies, receiving his board certification and a diplomat in chiropractic neurology in 2006. "I've always been fascinated by the complexity and magnificence of the human body - starting as an athlete and coach. My career in chiropractic neurology has been a great way for me to satisfy these interests while making a positive difference in people's lives - I really love what I do", Smith explains.

"As a chiropractor today, I like to treat my patients the way I wanted to be treated when I needed help", he says. At that time, he says he looked for someone to listen to him, figure out what he needed most to improve quickly, try new therapeutic strategies whenever necessary, and maintain a strong belief that he would achieve his ultimate goal: to regain his health.

"Essentially, I sought a professional partnership to aid me in the recovery of my own health", he explains. "Today, it is my mission to fulfill that role for others who are actively seeking to improve their health, in order to lead happier, fuller lives."

When Dr. Smith isn't working with patients, he enjoys spending time outside. "My wife and I enjoy golfing, hiking, biking and camping with our two dogs. I also enjoy reading a good science fiction novel now and then", he says.

Dr. Smith's professional goal is to assist others to achieve optimum health in safe and natural ways. "If you or someone you know is seeking to make changes in their health, I'd love the opportunity to meet them and discuss their specific health challenges", he explains. "There's no commitment, and it's a great way to find out if we're a good fit for working together".
